Mark is a United Methodist Church pastor with a hunger to teach and preach. He struggles to bring orthodox theological tradition into conversation with recent church-growth discussions. Mark believes many in the Church have become more comfortable choosing a position for or against a tradition/group rather than holding that tension that arises from honest examination and a desire to learn. He received his theological education at The Divinity School, Duke University. Mark has been the pastor of both small and large membership churches. Currently, he is the Senior Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He co-authored "Making Disciples: A New Approach To Confirmation" with Bishop William Willimon. He was selected by Vital Visuals Inc. to be the writer/presenter on the Morning Coffee Videos series. Mark is married to Annette Flynn and has two incredible daughters, Mary and Anna.
